According to Ajilon Professional Staffing research:
1. Madison, Wisconsin
2. Washington, D.C.
3. Boston, Massachusetts
4. Richmond, Virginia
5. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
6. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
7. Baltimore, Maryland
8. Seattle, Washington
9. Houston, Texas
10.Dallas, Texas
Of late, I've read a lot of good things about Madison. Ann Arbor sees the home for Wisconsin's flagship public university as a positive role model. I'm also glad to see Milwaukee getting more positive press. I'm almost as bullish about Milwaukee as I am Pittsburgh.

We are doing good unemployment wise but tell me, who here is hiring? PNC is doing some hiring, but not much because they are using a lot of National City employees to fill positions. However, most of those jobs will be in Cleveland. UPMC laid off a lot of people, so did Alcoa. I guess a lot of new jobs will be added with First Niagara takes over the old PNC / NCC bank branches, but then again, those are just replacing the jobs lost when PNC had to divest those branches.
Who in Pittsburgh is hiring?
First place I'd try is Westinghouse. The PR campaign for Pittsburgh jobs still has almost 17,000 listings. Just in the last 2 weeks, the Pittsburgh Tech Council job database posted 200 new opportunities. Even companies that are laying off workers, such as UPMC, are hiring.
But actually landing one of those positions is another story.
Interesting to me that three of the top ten are state capitals (and one obviously is the national capital).
