Since education makes a person more likely to leave your region, how do you justify your investment in human capital?

Moving To DC/NOVA
My wife was just offered a job that will place me and my family among the largest Burgh Diaspora community in the entire world. Anyone in that neck of the woods looking to hire a geographer?
I know the area well. Housing is pricey but I don't think quite as bad as New York and San Francisco. If you're willing to drive, you can get something very nice in the threes or fours.
Stay away from MD. Infrastructure is better but it's a blue state and crime is much higher than in Virginia.
Think Winchester, Berryville or possibly Charles Town, WV. You can actually build there if you want.
I've lived in the DC area before. My wife has kin in Winchester and Charles Town. Actually, we were married in Charles Town. It's a homecoming of sorts. We're looking forward to the move.
